One slightly chilly November day, I took a friend to see Lake Bracciano. We persuaded a local eatery to serve us an aperitivo snack as we admired the lake view.
Later we had an atmospheric stroll along the water’s edge as dusk fell, enjoying the out-of-season feel.
In the summer time, Trevignano Romano is a great destination for a Sunday lunch. The Paradiso sul Golfo has good, reasonably-priced food and a picture window overlooking the lake allowing a lake view in every weather.
The little town can get busy in summer, though there are plenty of car parking places. If you can’t find space in town, there are two big car parks at the points of entry into the town, a short walk from the centre.
A fairly big market is held on the lake front on the first and third Sunday of every month. Here you can find anything from antiques and bric-a-brac to local delicacies.
